just a little grunge. {a slightly late thrift style thursday post}

So, I was wearing this grungy outfit the other day: plaid, jeans, vest, Docs. But I was having a really really bad day at work and when I got home, I didn’t feel like having my picture taken. So instead of my actual ‘grunge’ outfit, I am showing off just 1 grunge-y piece, my new olive green utility jacket.

I can’t get enough of this jacket, it seems to go with everything. Here are 2 ways I wore it in the past few weeks. It’s kind of grunge-y right? Paired with docs and something flannel screams grunge to me.

Well, thats it folks. Sorry for a late and lackluster #TST post this week but I am still super stressed at my new job. Hoping it gets better soon.

Pantone-Inspired Spring Color Challenge: African Violet

I’m a little late to the game but I really wanted to participate in the Pantone-inspired Spring Color Challenge.

Today, I tried to mimic the African Violet color. Not having the exact color in my wardrobe, I chose the next best thing from my closet.

Sorry for the janky photos, once again, I had to get my sleepy hubby to take phone pix of me in the hallway because he wasn’t wearing enough clothes to go outside, LOL!

Also I wanted to show off my new bangles, especially this awesome Swarovski celestial bracelet. I just love it!

are flared or bootcut jeans still ‘cool’?

Are they? It seems that boyfriend and skinny jeans are currently ruling the fashion roost, but I still like my bootcut jeans. And my thrifted military jacket thing. And I liked how my butt looked in my new ebay jeans.

I remember when ‘flared’ jeans first became cool, it was sometime between 1995 and 1996 and I was in 5th or 6th grade. I was happy to try these flared wonders. Before flared jeans, we wore tapered pants. They were pretty horrible. But trends change so quickly, I feel like I barely have time to enjoy them before they’re swept away and replaced with something new.

Now it’s your turn to chime in…are bootcut jeans still ‘in’ or is wearing considered a fashion faux pas?
