casual birds

This is not a terribly exciting outfit but I needed something quick and easy because I had to get up very early to drop my car off for some paint work.  So here you go, not too exciting but it sure was easy to throw together.

I love cute prints (especially animal prints). The first time I wore this top, it was with a skirt. Now, as you see, I dressed it down with a cargo jacket, cotton scarf, and skinny jeans. It was more of a spring-y outfit because we’ve been having unseasonably warm days here in NC.

thrift style thursdays – layers

Thrift Style Thursday -layers

Welcome to another week of Thrift Style Thursdays! This week we’re styling LAYERS! Of course, the day I decided to wear a lot of warm layers on day that almost reached 84 degrees, hah!

I was going for a “schoolgirl chic” look, which I like because it’s appropriate for work but also comfortable. Plus the “nerd” look is very much in style. Here’s the formula for my layered look…

1. Collared Shirt (peter pan collar of possible) +
2. Sweater or sweater vest +
3 Vest or Jacket +
4. Short or knee length skirt +
5. knee high socks
Optional: glasses, books, jewelry 🙂

can’t get enough…denim vests

Here I am once again wearing a denim vest. I think the reason why I’m so obsessed with vests after so many years of swearing them off as “too 90s” is that they’re practical! I have chubby arms and often like the layering effects of jackets or blazers but dislike how my arms feel like sausages busting out of casings.

Enter the vest (denim or really any material). Great for layering, offers some warmth, some casual stylin’, matches many different styles, and easy to obtain or produce.

What do you think of this trend? How would you wear (or not wear) a denim vest?

happy flats

Hi everyone! Wishing you a happy (shoe) monday. Today I’ve decided to post some flats or very low heeled shoes that I like for late summer early fall. Since I’ve got my back to take care of, I’ve decided to focus on flats.

What do you think of these shoes? PLEASE leave links to any other cute flats that you have your eyes on, I’d love to get more ideas as I rebuild my shoe collection.

have a wonderful day!
xo,
Nout
