I love this “Pull Up a Cherry” dress from ModCloth, it’s so fun and whimsical and very vintage-inspired. When my friend Rachel bought a gorgeous and very poofy red petticoat for a photoshoot, I asked her if she’d sell it to me afterward. Now I’m a proud owner of a huge red petticoat that works well with this cherry dress 🙂

Oh, and Happy Friday!

PS. I’m going to be visiting family in Toronto, Canada for the next week so probably very few blog posts, if any.

an art show outfit

All dressed upAll dressed up

On Wednesday evening, hubby and I got all dressed up to go to this amazing art show in Raleigh called RAW. We had such a great time – there were all sorts of artists, jewelry makers, photographers, music, etc. I even got to meet one of my favorite photographers and he was impressed that I knew who he was.

The venue was this super cool placed called Lincoln Theater, which often holds music shows. They had a neat mural outside of Abe Lincoln riding a Lincoln car. I had fun meeting people and I even ended up with a necklace, a bracelet, and a framed cross-stitch for the hubby.

Hubby picked out this dress for me to wear and I decided to go with the pin-up style, since I just love a retro look.

HAPPY FRIDAY! hope everyone has a great weekend!

I mean, A LOT. Like, enough to cause flooding and make us wish we had an ark. The weather’s also been super hot + humid. Good thing I work in an office all day where they like to crank up the A/C, do I don’t have to wear shorts + tank tops all the time to stay cool.

I also wanted to share with you my newly thrifted Lamarthe tote. I was so happy to find it for a few dollars (!!!) at Value Village in Charlotte, NC, especially because these bags are expensive when new. Then I brought it home and realized it reeks like stale cigarette smoke. Not good. So I stopped using it and have it sitting in a my closet with a sachet of smell goods + baking soda. I know I need to leave it out in the sun for a few days but because of the rain….well, you get the idea.

I bought this Boden dress from Goodwill over the winter and I couldn’t wait to wear it…now it’s pretty much summer time and I finally got to wear my brightly colored dress!

What do you think of bright colors? The more the merrier or OK in moderation?
