Y’all, it’s been such a busy few weeks. Work has been really stressful as we get ready to roll out a huge automated email campaign, and also….WE GOT A NEW KITTEN! Friends, meet Eisenhower “Ike” Napoleon, an 8 week old dynamo!

My mom and I went antiquing in Selma, NC over the weekend and in one particular store, we came upon a TINY kitten in a cage with a sign reading “free kitten to a vet approved home.” Well, once I held him in my arms, I knew I wouldn’t be able to leave without him. Our two other

The cutest thing about this picture is Ike. I’m not really a huge fan of this outfit. I wore it to work today but don’t plan on wearing it again. And this thrifted blouse is going right back to the thrift store.

Hello everyone, my name is Nout and I used to blog here. It’s been a while hasn’t it? Y’all, this summer has been intense. From working my butt off, to the stress of my mom being sick, it’s been a rough month.

So rough in fact, that I don’t have “real” blog pictures this week, so please excuse the janky bathroom selfies!

But I love this outfit! My mom got my this fun linen blazer and I’ve already worn several times this summer. And if you’re looking to go casual but add a little zing, there’s no better way than to pull together your favorite skinny jeans, flowy top, simple heels, and a blazer.

Alright alright, you’re probably sick of my prints. I just can’t help it. I am such a lover of fun prints. And when my friend Jessica shared this peter pan collar cat print blouse that she found at Ross, I went out the next day and bought it.

Add a thrifted pencil skirt and summer jacket and voila – cute, corporate, and cheap (and perfect for Workwear Wednesday).

queen of hearts {workwear wednesday}

If you’ve ever read my blog, you know hot much of a sucker I am for a cute print. So it comes at no surprise that this heart print blouse is one of my favorites- and I got it at Clothes Mentor for a steal!

What you see behind me here is our little vegetable and herb garden. We’ve already started harvesting zucchini and cucumber. Oh so good, there’s nothing like fresh veggies from your garden. I do not have a green thumb though- all this is courtesy of my wonderful husband.

Oh, and I got a haircut!

I know, I know, this post is a bit late! But, I didn’t want to go skip this month’s budget post.

Here’s what I bought this month:

  • Cabi blazer + Madewell bag – consignment credit {and I just realized I didn’t take a picture of my Madewell  Transport Satchel, but I’m sure it will show up later on my blog!}
  • Purple cotton dress $35, local boutique
  • Beija Flor Audrey jeans – gift from mom
  • Leota dress, ebay $23.70
  • Beija flor green Audrey jeans plus dark Nicole jeans, on sale for $98 for both
  • Longchamp mini card holder, $18 from Clothes Mentor

Thrifted:

=$261.81 TOTAL. I had $310 left for May and June so that leaves me $48.19 left for June (yikes). Ugh, ya’ll… that is over my budget.

Also…I went a little crazy with make up this month! I don’t usually include beauty/sundries/underwear in my monthly budget but since this was a pretty big expenditure, I think it deserved a special mention. Also I spent some money at the tailor getting my clothing taken in after my 30lb weight loss (but hey, that’s not a bad thing).
