I really wouldn’t call this a refashion. This is more of a jacket makeover! This project helped me do 2 things: 1. I really wanted denim vest and 2. I had a double breasted jean jacket that I wasn’t really wearing and didn’t really like all that much. The sleeves were too long and too tight.
So, I simply cut the sleeves off the jacket. I had some technical difficulties because I keep forgetting that sewing like 3 layers of thick denim is next to impossible unless you have industrial machinery. Alas, it didn’t turn out as perfect as I expected but who cares? You can’t really tell
I wore my brand new vest to work yesterday with a maxi dress. I think I like it better worn open:
Jacket/Vest: Victoria’s Secret, old
Dress: Cato maxi dress with belt, thrifted $4.59
Necklace: Catherine Popesco, ebay
Sandals: Sam Edelman Gigi, piperlime on sale
